Potsdam, New York – FuzeHub, the statewide New York Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NY MEP) center, announced the winners of the second-annual Millennials in Manufacturing Awards, which celebrates young professionals who are doing their part to strengthen New York State’s manufacturing industry.
LC Drives’ Machines Chief Engineer, Matthew Honickman was one of 17 honorees. Meet the additional award winners here.
New York State manufacturing companies with under 500 employees were invited to nominate an employee between the ages of 25 and 39 holding a position as an engineer, technician, or another role directly related to manufacturing operations.
Honickman’s contributions to LC Drives enables the manufacturing of the Company’s power-dense motors and generators. His innovative processes have enabled the solutions of near-impossible problems that the Company has overcome during the manufacturing of these one-of-a-kind machines. Honickman provides a critical bridge between the product motor design team, manufacturing and supply chain operations, and product testing and qualification. His ability to retain an uncanny level of detail with respect to the requirements and the design of these machines has greatly contributed to the overall success of the Company.
“Matthew’s overall technical knowledge is wide and deep compared to exceptional peers 20 years older than him. He combines this unique capability with the hands-on skills that make him the go-to person for the most critical assembly, machining, brazing, and welding operations,” said Russel Marvin, CEO.
As a future leader in manufacturing, “no problem is too hard for Matthew to tackle. He is never satisfied with ‘good enough’ and is always reaching to make improvements to the LC Drives manufacturing process and equipment”, said Scott McNulty, Vice President of Manufacturing. McNulty continues, “Honickman enjoys educating and collaborating with everyone at LC Drives, leveraging his tremendous knowledge to brainstorm and come up with unique and successful solutions.”
Honickman is the second LC Drives employee to be recognized by FuzeHub. Dylan Broomfield, Director of Product Engineering was honored for his achievements in the Millennials in Manufacturing Class of 2019.
